Busymom: Please introduce yourself.

Jen: I am Jen, a mother to three high school students--two boys and one girl. Many told me that once the children get older, they will not need their parents as much. I don't find that to be true. I see once they get older, they need their parents around for advice and guidance. I also help my husband run his business, and I have been taking classes at our local university after 20 years of not being in school.

Busymom: How do you take care of yourself, so that you are able to fulfill these roles?

Jen: For starters, I keep things to do, appointments, events and etc. in a day planner because that helps me manage my time. My children also have certain chores they are responsible for doing and completing. Since they are teenagers, I am able to take showers, or go into my room to read a book. I also use moisturizers and lotions massage my skin.

Busymom: What kind of advice would you like to give to busy mothers?

Jen: Don't be afraid to ask for some time to yourself. You need it, so that you can filled with energy when doing your job or jobs. A happy mom makes a happy home. Your family's mood is affected by you--the mother.

Tonya, of New Mexico, is a work at home mother to a boy and a girl. She is a freelance writer. "I love being a work at home mom because as a freelance writer, I have more control of my hours--which is a good thing for my children," Tonya said. Tonya: I am Tonya. I used to work as a writer in a company before becoming a freelance writer to stay at home with my children.

Busymom: How do you separate your work from your family, so that you can have time for yourself as well?

Tonya: I try to stick to a schedule, however with flexibility. I tend to work in the same room where my children are playing. I work part-time, so that I can fulfill the needs of my family. Once the children are in school, I will be working full-time. After three or fours of work, I quit and focus time on my family. Any work questions or issues wait until the next day. I also use a day planner religiously.

Busymom: Do you have time for yourself? If so, how?

Busymom: How do you balance time for yourself since you work full-time and manage and fulfill your family's needs?

Traci: My husband is a big help in this. Without him, I wouldn't be able to accomplish much. I try to be as organized and efficient as possible by using a day planner. I write down events, activities and projects. My husband and I delegate tasks to each other and with our kids when appropriate. When my kids go to bed, I usually take my bath. Busymom: How do you find balance as a stay at home mom and a college student?

Eva: Since I am more at home than my husband, I take care of most of the responsibilities. However, when he is home, he does help with whatever I need. Since I will be returning back to school after having a child. I am trying to be flexible yet have some kind of structure. My son is at the age where he likes to play with toys in the room I am in. He will be fine. I wait till he sleeps to get more things done. When my husband comes home, I give my self a bubble bath and then moisturize as a way to take care of myself. I also love candles.
