Wednesday's Word With: Dana

A mother of three, Dana and her family moved back to Michigan this summer. Dana was six months pregnant with her third child when they were moving. "It was tough because my eldest child--a boy, is four years old, and my second child--a girl, is two," Dana explained.

Busymom: Please introduce yourself.

Dana: I am Dana. My family and I moved back from Ohio to Michigan, where I am originally from. I am a mother of three beautiful children, two boys and one girl. I am also a stay-at-home mom.

Busymom: I am amazed that you had made the move in the summer while you were pregnant. You just had a baby this August. How did you do it?

Dana (laughs): With careful planning. You plan everything that you can, yet be flexible when things don't always follow through. I know that certain things always must happen--for example paying bills on certain dates or doctor appointments. That is a must. I record those in my day planner. I also record other tasks like attending preschool or playgroups as well. Things that need my attention get recorded.

Busymom: Your husband is a physician, so he is not home a lot with you to help take care of the children, therefore not leaving enough time for yourself. How do you take care of yourself?

Dana: When my husband has a vacation day or a day off, he helps. In fact, he will tell me to take the day off to myself--do whatever I like. Since I can't stay in the showers or bath too long, I really don't pamper myself too much. One way I take care of myself is by lighting up a candle. I love scented candles because they are so relaxing and help calm the atmosphere. Every once in a while, I will use a spa-at-home kit.

Busymom: What kind of advice would you like to give to other moms?

Dana: Often times, many people go through life without reflecting or contemplating. Before they know it, they realize that time has passed them by. Learn to slow down. Enjoy the scent of a candle or pamper yourself with a spa.

No matter how busy our schedules may get, we should always try to take care of ourselves. Allizon.com has many items for moms like Dana. You can find day planners and agendas, candles and spa-at-home kits at http://www.allizon.com/.

Wednesday's Word With: Tina

A fulltime, stay-at-home mom, Tina, of New Jersey, has her hands full with triplets--two boys and one girl. Her husband works 12 hour days, five or six days a week. That usually doesn't leave much time for Tina to pamper herself because she is constantly supervising her children. Once they're asleep, she tries to clean up the rooms, or she takes a nap herself.

Busymom: Please introduce yourself.

Tina: I'm Tina, a mother of triplets. My triplets are all two right now, so I am having to deal with the "Terrible Twos" as well. My husband does help when he is not working. I plan structured activities and free play for my children.

Busymom: Why do you plan structured activities?

Tina: I have to plan structured activities because that is one way the triplets will learn about their environment and how to deal with each other. Otherwise, you will hear constant fighting a big part of the day!

Busymom: When you have a chance how do you take care of yourself? Or what kinds of products do you use to help make your life easier?

Tina: When I take a shower, I will use my favorite shower gels or body wash, and then apply lotion once I get dressed. Not only do I smell great, I feel relaxed. I also use a calendar to record activities, appointments and other important items. That helps because it keeps my mind clutter-free.

Busymom: What kind of advice would you like to share with other moms?

Tina: It's OK to have a "lived-in" house, meaning it doesn't look like it came out of a magazine. When your children sleep or take a nap, go for it if you want or need one.

Although Tina may not have much time to pamper herself, she does while she showers or bathes. Shower gels, body wash and lotions help a person, especially a mom, feel good about themselves. Tina also uses an agenda to help organize her and her family's life. Agendas, shower gels and other items can be found at http://www.allizon.com/.

Friday Favorites: The Kitchen Folio

Many times an area in our home, usually a desk, kitchen or dining room table, is cluttered with papers--notes from our children's schools, bills, reminders, menus, homework, newspapers, magazines, and even to-do lists. We place papers there thinking that when we have time, we will organize the papers and other clutters.

The Kitchen Folio holds 48 pages in its heavy, duty clear plastic pages. There are 24 interchangeable tabs to categorize the pages by your choice of organization. The Kitchen Folio would be an excellent place to hold and organize papers that may be too important to throw out or lose.

Wednesday's Word With: Sarah

Sarah, a college part-time student in Chicago, has her hands full with her two children, ages 2 and 1. Sarah puts her two children in day care because she attends college classes and her husband works. After class, Sarah picks up their children and then is kept busy with them until their bedtime.
Busymom: Please introduce yourself.

Sarah: I am Sarah, a college student living in Chicago. I am studying to be radiologist. I also have two children and am happily married. It can be tough taking care of two toddlers! I want to say it is even tougher than studying for classes. *laughs*

Busymom: From the sounds of it, you do have a busy life. Since they are so close in age, how do your children get along?

Sarah: Well my daughter, who is one, has learned to defend herself against her older brother because sometimes he likes to tease her. They usually don't play with each other because that age is more learning about themselves in their environment.

Busymom: Give us a typical day of your schedule.

Sarah: Ok. My husband works second shift, so he is asleep when this all happens. It begins at 7:30 a.m., when my children wake up. I wake up around 7 a.m. After I have changed their clothes and washed them up, they are eating breakfast by 8:15 a.m. By 8:45 a.m., we are out the door and drop the kids off at daycare. I am in class by 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. I then swing by daycare pick up my children and head home. They play while I prepare dinner. After some more free play with them, I give them their baths, then read them a bedtime story and then put them in bed by 7:45 p.m. I then wash dishes, straighten the living room, and pull out my books to study and get caught up on homework. I usually end up going to bed around 12 a.m.

Busymom: How do you avoid being stressed out? With that type of schedule, you definitely need to take care of yourself!

Sarah: My time alone is when I am driving to class or a 15 minute resting period because I do some evening chores and my school work. My husband usually gives me a day to myself on the weekend. He'll spend an entire day with them on a Saturday or Sunday while I get caught up with what I want to do. In the mean time, I definitely rely on my day planner, so I know where everyone is at and what kind of projects are due. I am also a big fan of moisturizers. Not only do they make your skin feel soft, it's relaxation!

Busymom: Any advice you would like to offer to busy moms?

Sarah: Try to enjoy your moments with your children when they are keeping you busy because they will grow before you know it. Also, when family offer to watch your children just because--accept it!

Sarah once again strongly encourages moms to keep a day planner or calendar to keep track of activities, projects and tasks. At Allizon.com, MomAgendas are a perfect example for the busy mom. They are easy to carry wherever the busy mom goes. Sarah also said she believes in using moisturizers. Some of the best moisturizers can be found at Allizon.com. Some excellent moisturizers include Mediterranean Spa Lemon& Orange, Malie Mango Butter Bun , and Malie Koke'e Body Creme. Once again, many more can be found at http://www.allizon.com/ .

Friday Favorites: Blue Chamomile Moisturizer

The best part of a product is when it has multi-uses. Expensive moisturizers often time don't offer multi uses, and usually those moisturizers sit on top of the dresser or in the bathroom cabinets.

Wednesday's Word With: Faye of Illinois

Faye, of Illinois, is a mother of six children and works full time. Although her husband does help with family and household tasks, Faye ends up completing or supervising most of those tasks. I have interviewed her to see how if she makes time for herself.

Busymom: Please introduce yourself.

Faye: I am Faye. I am the mother of six children, ages three to 12 years, and I work in a preschool. I come home and then work to make sure family and household tasks are met. Bless my husband, he does help when he can.

Busymom: You mentioned that your husband does help when he can. What about your older children?

Faye: Yes, they are starting to, even the three year old. They pick up after themselves. They also receive positive reinforcements if they do above and beyond their responsibilities. Since we are a large family, we work or try to work as a team. Sometimes, we have our moments.

Busymom: Since you are extremely busy, how do you take care of yourself, so that you may continue to be healthy and happy?

Faye: I have learned not to be a perfectionist and that each person has their own way of completing tasks. I also record all appointments, meetings, play dates, projects in one agenda that stays with me, so that I can keep track of all activities. When the children are in bed, I give myself a bubble bath with a good book I'm reading. After that, I use lotion as a massaging technique. Sometimes, my husband will take over the bed time routine, so that I could go to bed early.

Busymom: Any other advice you would like to give to busy moms?

Faye: Allow others to help in their own way--even if it annoys you. Learn to let go of some tasks and delegate. Don't feel guilty in spending time for yourself. If you are not happy, then your family will not be happy.

Faye is one busy mom, yet she manages to take care of herself even if only minutes of time alone. She is an avid user of agendas. At http://www.allizon.com/, Busy Mom agendas and calendars are available for the busy mom. Faye mentions that she uses lotions to relax. At allizon.com, there are a variety of lotions for purchase, such as Malie Koke'e Body Creme, Jing Jang Creme, or Aromatherapy Moisturizers. Visit http://www.allizon.com/ for your personal or gift needs--you'll be glad you did.

Mondy's Spotlight:Moisturizing Question

Question: Is there a cream or moisturizer that actually works? I mean I am looking something that actually feels the cream or moisturizer is working when it is applied to my hands or other parts of the body.

Answer: Yes. You actually came to the right place. Now a days many moisturizers and creams have chemicals that do not leave a natural feel. Well, there is a brand I STRONGLY recommend is Malie Koke'e Body Creme because when it is applied to the body, you can feel it working. The feeling of relaxation lasts awhile on the applied area. Check out allizon.com for more information on the product Malie Koke'e Body Creme.

Positive Review: Malie Koke'e Body Creme

As stated in yesterday's post, I received a sample of Malie Koke'e Body Creme. I used it last night and today. How AWESOME!! As I put some creme on my hands and arms, I felt the creme working on my skin.

There are plenty of moisturizers and cremes that don't give you a "working feel" when you apply on your hands, arms or body, but Malie Koke'e Body Creme was the opposite. Malie Koke'e Body Creme gives a massaging feel when applied on your hands, arms or other parts of the body. Not only does it feel massaged, your skin feels relaxed.

The best part as you use this product, you are using natural and healthy ingredients like Coconut, Macadamia Nut Oils, Ginger, Aloe and there is more. This product comes from Hawaii, the state of relaxation.

For more information on Malie Koke'e Body Creme, go to http://www.allizon.com/.

Friday Favorites: Trying Malie Koke'e Body Creme

I just received my bottle of Malie Koke'e Body Creme today in the mail. I am so excited to try it. When I opened my package, I could smell the scent of Malie Koke'e Body Creme. What a beautiful, enchanting scent, I thought.

Malie Koke'e Body Creme is made of therapeutics and botanic oils. Other ingredients included in the Malie Koke'e Body Creme are Coconut, Kukui and Macadamia Nut Oils. Awapuhi Ginger, Aloe and Chamomile. All these ingredients are definitely good for your body and mind.

Today, many products are made of chemicals we don't even understand what they mean. Often times, these products may hurt us, instead of help us.

Many products at Allizon.com are made of natural resources, nature's gift to humanity. I will let you know tomorrow what I thought about my Malie Koke'e Body Creme.
